Sprained ankle

There is a really good reason for why I haven't been walking. I sprained the ankle on the 4th at the CSI fireworks display. I was walking and trying to call Zach and stepped on/off a lip at the side of the road. These pictures were taken today, and since then I have noticed more bruising. I think you aren't supposed to continue to ice after 72 hours, but I think I'm going to continue. It is still really warm and really sore. I really hope it is only sprained. It would suck to have to go all the way to pocatello just to get a cast.

WALK RCP 3mi

I walked again today. It was hot and humid down in the parkway. The official temperature was 80o but it felt hotter. There was this old man down there riding his bike all over the place wearing a speedo. Men just don't know how bad they look, I guess.

I am one week into the detox, and it is starting to work. I am craving less sweets during the day. I still have major cravings for spice cake when I go to the store, but I am refusing to buy! My weigh in this morning was 173. I have a really long way to go. 50 pounds to be exact. Well, maybe not exact.

WALK RCP 3 mi

It was sunny and hot, 83o. I told two people that they needed to have their dogs on leashes only to get brushed off like they didn't care what the law was. Frustrating! But I did manage to do a little running - down hill in the shade! But that is how it starts!

SUN RCP 3 mi walk

Wen out tonight to walk the RCP. It was a humid 81o. I picked up the pace a little. Good walk.

SAT RCP 3mi walk

It was hot today when I went, about 85o and very sunny. I put a spring in my step until the last 1/4 when I began to overheat. I got it done, though. I started the sugar detox on Wednesday. Tough days for me. It will only take a couple of weeks, though, and I can handle that!

WED RCP 3 mi walk (to CSI & back 1 mi)

Early today, I walked to CSI to check out the ruckus. Turns out, they have just installed a public address system on the CSI tower, and they were trying it out. So, I was right about the sound I was hearing. This evening I walked the RCP. Nice, 74o pleasant walk. Lots of bugs and people tonight.

SUN RCP 7.1 Bike

Zach wanted to go on the 7 mile loop tonight, so we did. There was a wicked windstorm last night and we found the path blocked by a Russian olive tree. We hauled the bikes over the tree and continued on the trip.

I found out when I was trying to go up the first hill that my gears are whacked, so when I get some money, I will have to get them fixed. I stopped several times on the hills because of the gear and a couple of times on the last hill because I was tired, but I didn't walk the bike out at all.

It was a warm night, 80o, and it was nice to feel the breeze on the skin. All in all it felt pretty good.

WED NW Bike Route 6.3 mi Biked

I haven't walked/biked since Saturday because I didn't want to over-do it right off the bat. It didn't have anything to do with sleeping in and being lazy. Well, maybe a little.

I went on the bike ride tonight. It was about 75o and my butt didn't hurt so bad this time. I'm thinking I'm just about ready for the 7.1 mi loop!

SAT NW Bike Route 6.3 Mi Biked

I dusted off the old bike today and took it on and easy bike path ride. My butt was hurting so bad by the time I got home I considered crying at one time. You'd think all that fat would cushion better!

FRI RCP 3.5 mile walk

I walked the RCP again, today with Megan. It was close to 80o and felt rather hot - which was nice after having so much cold. No problems with sciatica pain. Great walk.

THU RCP walked 3 mi

It was just about perfect today. 66o, the first day this year that actually felt like summer, even this morning when I took out the trash. At the end of the walk, I started to feel some pain from my sciatica, but I made it back and I feel pretty good now. There were a lot of people out today, and even one dog who wasn't on a hard leash, but well behaved.

A great start.

THU Centennial Trail and Yoga at Home

Hey, I even ran some of it today! Then, I finally started Rodney Yee's Moving Toward Balance 8 week program. My balance was really off!

WED Bike 7mi loop, Yoga

That's right! I rode my bike, then went to yoga. I talked to teacher about being super limber lately, she didn't know why. Then, as I sat, I realized, the difference is that I'm not running like I used to. When all you do is yoga, your body stretches and learns balance. I have been hiking a bit, which is too much fun to be excercise. I think that yoga will have to become an everyday activity. I like being super limber, almost like before 3rd grade!

MON - Centennial Trail

Hiked Centennial Trail with Zach. Instead of walking road back up to car, we chose to climb up to it. Soooo much fun! Heart pounding, breathing hard, and sweating, but still, too fun to be excercise.

THU - Walk on Centennial trail

I hiked the centennial trail with Megan. We got to the top and chose to cut across desert to get back to car. It was probably 4-5 miles round trip.

WED 2 mile walk/run cft and Yoga - Church

So I wanted to make up for yesterday's laziness with a walk/run and yoga. So that is exactly what I did. Again I felt overly flexible today. I wanted to ask Joyce about it, but she was busy. Love the new blanket and bolster that I ordered. They are most excellent, and they were almost $30 less than expected! So I had her put the balance on my yoga class account.

MON Yoga - School

Felt good enough for yoga today! I sure am bendy right now. Then I went for a walk with Dale at Shoshone Falls. I love the way Shoshone Falls looks in this font!

Saturday, March 11, 2006

SAT - St. Pattys Fun Run/Walk

Megan and I took part in the St. Patricks Day fun run/walk at Malad Gorge. 3.5 miles followed by smoked trout lunch.

Still Ill

Still ill, kill bill, ill will, hmmm. Anyway, last Monday at yoga I felt sooooooo good! It was wonderful! Then Tuesday Morning I knew I was starting to come down with some illness. Stillness. nooooo. Well, I ran the CFT (mostly walked) and then went shopping w/daughter. Then I knew I was in trouble. So don't think that because my feet haven't been running for a week that nothing about be is! That's right, running a fever, nose running, eyes running. I think I am getting a little better now, but, the drive I went on tonight was scary. For some reason, this cold really messes with perception.

MON Yoga

It was easy, but oh so good! I actually felt really strong and healthy while doing this session. Maybe the sugar detox is working!?!

Saturday, February 25, 2006

SAT walked CT

Walked the Centennial Trail today. Georgeous day! Perfect weather! Great view of falls! Lot's of water.

Friday, February 24, 2006

FRI CFT 2.3 mi jog/walk

50 degrees, sweat shirt/sweat pants, just about right. Ran entire first mile! alternated walk and jog remaining mile.

Thursday, February 23, 2006

THU Bike, 7 mile loop

50 degrees, wind 12 mph. Wore sweat shirt, sweat pants, gloves and full coat (should have just worn shell). Beautiful day for a ride!

Wednesday, February 22, 2006

WED Yoga

Yoga at the church with Joyce. Restorative, very nice and relaxing. Ordered blanket and bolster, paid $80 cash.

Thursday, February 09, 2006

THU Bike 7 mi

It was supposed to be nice, and if it weren't for the icy cold wind it would have been. I wore my sweatshirt and tneck, but really needed ear muffs and gloves. I think it was in the mid 30s to low 40s. It didn't kill me the way last week's ride did.

Wednesday, February 08, 2006

WED Yoga

1 1/2 hours of yoga at the church. Did something bad to my neck, don't know what but it caused a bad headache.

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

TUE CFT 2 mile run/walk

Ran/walked. It was cool and windy, but heck, it was just 2 miles, and I drove.

Monday, February 06, 2006

MON Yoga, school

Yoga at school, easier than last Monday.

Friday, February 03, 2006

FRI - Bike 7 miles

Great day for a bike ride. In the 50s slight breeze, I wore my sweats and tneck. Perfect. But oh my gosh was it hard. I have been sooooooo lazy.

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

Wed - Yoga - 2 mile walk

Yoga, 1 1/2 hours at church. walked to store and back. Yoga on Wednesday is a lot harder than the yoga on Mondays!
